The library holds a comprehensive collection of books, DVD’s, magazines and Audio Books and all are available for loan for a limited period. If an item you are looking for is unavailable, we can search for the title free of charge from across Western Australia.
Membership
Library membership is free to all permanent residents of Carnarvon and other Western Australian Public Library members. Visitors to Western Australia can apply for a temporary membership by paying a refundable deposit.
Internet Access
Internet terminals, Wireless internet and printing are available. Fees apply. Permanent members of Western Australian Public Libraries receive 30 minutes of free internet access per day.
Fax and photocopying is also available. Fees apply. Contact the library for current rates.
Events And Actvities
The library runs a number of free events and programmes for children and adults.
Children’s storytime — Tuesday from 10.30am - 11.30am.
Baby Ryhme Time — Wednesday mornings
Book Club for Adults — Meet every 6 weeks
Book Club for Children — Meet every 6 weeks
Children’s Book Week activities run every year in August for one week, with a published author or illustrator visiting local schools.
School holiday art and craft activities are run during the April, July and October school holidays.
Better Beginnings Plus is a school based early literacy program which delivers reading materials, backpacks and online games to Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students. The library holds after school storytime sessions for the duration of the programme.
The library also runs events for Senior’s Week and Adult Learners Week.
