Carnarvon has a wonderful and diverse heritage. Carnarvon's traditional owners are the Aboriginal Inggarda, Baiyunga, Malgana, Thalanji and Thudgarri people. European settlement started in 1876. Throughout the years there has been a wonderful collection of historical buildings and places collected, collated and recorded. The Shire of Carnarvon appreciates the great significance of the towns history.
