Make an Impact Where the River Meets the Reef
At the Shire of Carnarvon, no two days are the same. From the river to the reef, our team delivers projects and services that shape the lives of our residents, support local industry, and build a strong, connected community.
As part of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll be at the heart of local government leadership — supporting a dynamic CEO and Council who are passionate about good governance, meaningful community outcomes, and the future of the Gascoyne.
This is not your typical administrative role. It’s a trusted partnership position, central to enabling the CEO to focus on leadership, strategy, and people. If you thrive on purpose, connection, and challenge — and believe professionalism and people go hand-in-hand — this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
What You’ll Do
As our Executive Service Coordinator, you will:
-
Provide high-level, confidential, and strategic support to the CEO and Council.
-
Coordinate executive governance operations, including Council agendas, minutes, resolutions, and key registers.
-
Build trusted relationships with Councillors, senior management, and the community.
-
Manage CEO correspondence, briefings, and meeting preparation with accuracy and professionalism.
-
Drive continuous improvement in executive systems and processes to enhance transparency and accountability.
-
Support the coordination of civic events, Council workshops, and community engagements.
You’ll be an active connector — ensuring alignment and clarity across Council, the Executive team, and the community.
About You
You’ll bring:
-
Proven experience providing executive and governance support to a CEO, executive, or elected body.
-
Advanced communication, organisation, and digital literacy skills.
-
Sound understanding of the Local Government Act 1995 and associated governance frameworks.
-
Exceptional discretion, judgment, and political awareness.
-
A genuine commitment to the CARECHIP Values — Courage, Authenticity, Respect, Excellence, Cohesion, Humility, Inclusion, and Passion.
Experience in a regional or complex environment and local knowledge of the Gascoyne are highly regarded.
Why Join Us

-
5 weeks annual leave + 2 local government holidays
-
Professional development and career growth opportunities
-
Subsidies for local clubs, gym membership, and aquatic centre access
