The Shire of Carnarvon has announced the latest round of funding recipients from the Community Growth Fund. A total of five organisations have been successful in securing grants towards rates assistance:

  • Carnarvon Heritage Precinct, receiving $1,374.80
  • Carnarvon Horse and Pony Club, receiving $1,000

  • Carnarvon Arts and Craft Workshop, receiving $2,000.

Council has also granted an in-principle approval of a $10,000 grants towards Total Solar Eclipse Markets for the Gascoyne Growers Markets. The approval was provided on the basis of the total solar eclipse being an event unique to the region and is subject to further details about the event being provided to Council.

The Community Growth Fund Committee met in mid-November to assess the applications received in Round 3, which closed on November 12. The Committee put forth recommendations to Council for approval on the grant recipients, which was granted at the Ordinary Meeting on November 22.

Each application was assessed by the Committee against the criteria outlined in the Community Growth Fund’s policy prior to its recommendations to Council, and scored against the detailed objectives provided, provision of a detailed budget, and demonstrating a significant benefit to the community of Carnarvon.

The Shire’s Community Growth Fund grants are provided as in-kind or financial assistance to support local not-for-profit groups and individuals to deliver projects and events that benefit the Shire of Carnarvon community.

The next round opens 1 January 2023, closing six weeks later on 12 February 2023, so for more information or to apply, visit: https://www.carnarvon.wa.gov.au/community/events/grants-funding/community-growth-fund.aspx
