Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act (1995) of the Shire of Carnarvon’s proposal to dispose of the following property by way of lease:

Pursuant to Section 3.50 of the Local Government Act, 1995, the Shire of Carnarvon hereby gives public notice of its intent to apply a temporary partial road closure to Annear Place. It is proposed that a section of the road will be temporarily closed from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2025 (18 months) due to repair works being undertaken on the One Mile Jetty.

In relation to the product, hydromulch, being used on the Pelican Point spit, we can advise that is used for long-term dune stability and is being used to establish vegetation effectively on these dunes. It is also 100% biodegradable and safe for the environment.

We wish to advise the community that both vehicle and pedestrian access to the Pelican Point spit is still prohibited. Although the dredging equipment has been removed and the dredging has been completed, it is still an active Department of Transport worksite where the final works are being completed in the coming weeks.

We wish to advise the community that the Browns Range Waste Facility will closed on the Labour Day Public Holiday Monday 4 March 2024. In regard to bin collections, if your bins are collected on Mondays, your bin will be collected on Tuesday 5 March and all other bin collections will remain the same.

The Shire of Carnarvon is seeking an experienced contractor for the design and construction of two residential lots in the released Stage 4 of the Northwater Development in the Carnarvon townsite.

We wish to advise the community that the Browns Range Waste Facility is open today. However, the ground is still wet and can be hazardous; therefore, we would recommend waiting until it is operating back at full capacity if you can.

Cyclone YELLOW ALERT for NORTH WEST CAPE to WOORAMEL ROADHOUSE (including EXMOUTH, CORAL BAY, GIRALIA and CARNARVON) Update time: 09:51 PM, 23 February 2024. Please note changes to the Warning Areas, including extension of the Yellow Alert. Two Evacuation Centres are open at Exmouth Shire Hall and the Carnarvon Civic Centre.

Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban declared for the Shire of Carnarvon from 9am to 4pm on Saturday the 24 February 2024 Activities Not Permitted During the Period of This Ban 

A total fire ban has been declared from 12am Saturday 24 February to 12am Sunday 25 February 2024 Total Fire Bans are declared by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA (DFES) under the following circumstances: • Severe weather conditions are forecast, or when widespread fires mean they don’t have the resources to fight more. • The lighting of open-air fires or any other activity in the open air that is likely to cause a fire. • When fire weather conditions are most likely to threaten lives and property or when a fire is already underway and firefighting resources are committed.

The Shire of Carnarvon wishes to advise that Robinson Street will be closed northbound from the Camel Lane Roundabout to Alexandra Street on Sunday 18 February from 12.30pm to 3pm. Vehicles and pedestrians will still have access to turn left onto Robinson Street from Alexandra Street.

We regret to advise that we currently have a limited supply of water in our recycled water storage ponds. As a result, we have had to restrict our recycled water use until the pond levels increase which is of course having an unfortunate and unavoidable impact on our parks and gardens.
