Posted March 6, 2024 Invitation for Public Submissions - Proposed Partial Road Closure, Annear Place

Pursuant to Section 3.50 of the Local Government Act, 1995, the Shire of Carnarvon hereby gives public notice of its intent to apply a temporary partial road closure to Annear Place. It is proposed that a section of the road will be temporarily closed from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2025 (18 months) due to repair works being undertaken on the One Mile Jetty.

In relation to the product, hydromulch, being used on the Pelican Point spit, we can advise that is used for long-term dune stability and is being used to establish vegetation effectively on these dunes. It is also 100% biodegradable and safe for the environment.

We wish to advise the community that both vehicle and pedestrian access to the Pelican Point spit is still prohibited. Although the dredging equipment has been removed and the dredging has been completed, it is still an active Department of Transport worksite where the final works are being completed in the coming weeks.

A total fire ban has been declared from 12am Saturday 24 February to 12am Sunday 25 February 2024 Total Fire Bans are declared by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA (DFES) under the following circumstances: • Severe weather conditions are forecast, or when widespread fires mean they don’t have the resources to fight more. • The lighting of open-air fires or any other activity in the open air that is likely to cause a fire. • When fire weather conditions are most likely to threaten lives and property or when a fire is already underway and firefighting resources are committed.

We regret to advise that we currently have a limited supply of water in our recycled water storage ponds. As a result, we have had to restrict our recycled water use until the pond levels increase which is of course having an unfortunate and unavoidable impact on our parks and gardens.
