Cr Mark Young is a long-term regional business owner based in Coral Bay, one of Western Australia’s premier tourism destinations welcoming around 350,000 visitors annually.
With a background spanning over 25 years as a farmer and business operator in the Wheatbelt, Cr Young brings a deep understanding of regional economies and the challenges faced by small communities.
His priorities include protecting the Ningaloo coastline, strengthening policing and emergency services in the Gascoyne, improving accommodation options for workers, and investing in regional infrastructure to support the growing tourism industry.
Outside of Council, Cr Young serves as a Justice of the Peace in Coral Bay. He and his wife Margaret have three grown children and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first grandchild.
