At the Council meeting on 24 January, Council resolved to formalise an agreement with the Carnarvon Speedway Club which will allow the Club to collect lead acid batteries from the Brown’s Range Landfill site for resale as a fundraising activity.

The Shire of Carnarvon Council has agreed to enter into a licence agreement with Horizon Power for the installation of two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the town centre. The EV charging stations will be built on an area of land on Camel Lane for use by the community and visitors.

Visitors and residents of Carnarvon will be treated to a week of eclipse-related festivities as part of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovations, Dark Sky Festival in celebration of the total solar eclipse occurring in April 2023. The April 2023 Rocks Carnarvon Festival will take place in Carnarvon from the 15 to the 22 April 2023 and is anticipated to attract up to 5,000 people throughout the week.
