The Carnarvon Airport is located 2.1km from the Carnarvon town centre and owned and operated by the Shire of Carnarvon. The airport is serviced by Regional Express Airlines (REX) with flight routes from Perth to Shark Bay as a stop before departing for Carnarvon. Due to increased demand Rex Airlines charters the use of National Jet Express Q400s on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to manage the demand, and uses the Saab 340 aircraft on all other scheduled flights. There are two flights scheduled from Perth to Carnarvon daily Monday through to Friday with only one flight scheduled on Saturday and Sundays.
