The Browns Range Waste Management Facility is approximately 7km southeast of the Carnarvon townsite and is on the Speedway Road (turnoff next to Outback Travel Centre) and is signposted. There is alternative access to the facility via North West Coastal Highway, approximately 2km south of the OTC Dish – the road is signposted. Map |

1 Putrescible waste is waste likely to become putrid - including wastes that contain organic materials such as food wastes or wastes of animal or vegetable origin, which readily bio-degrade within the environment of the landfill.
2 Inert non-putrescible waste is waste that is largely non-biodegradable, non-flammable and not chemically reactive
3 Horticultural plastics includes shade cloths, plastic mulch, irrigation pipe etc.
4 Horticultural putrescible waste includes reject/spoiled fruit, vegetables, pulps etc.
5 Clean fill means raw excavated natural material such as clay, gravel, sand, soil or rock fines that:
(a) has been excavated or removed from the earth in areas that have not been subject to potentially contaminating land uses including industrial, commercial, mining or intensive agricultural activities; and
(b) has not been processed except for the purposes of:
i. achieving desired particle size distribution; and/or
ii. removing naturally occurring organic materials such as roots; and
(c) does not contain any acid sulphate soil; and
(d) does not contain any other type of waste.
