Local Contractor Appointed for Civic Centre Upgrades

The Shire of Carnarvon is pleased to announce that, following the Ordinary Council Meeting on 29 April 2025, local contractor Norwest Project Solutions has been awarded the contract to deliver key upgrades to the Carnarvon Civic Centre.

Funded through the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Seroja Disaster Recovery Funding, with additional support from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program, the project will enhance safety, accessibility, and functionality of the Civic Centre.

The upgrades include:

  • Courtyard roof enclosure
  • Woolshed roof screen replacement
  • Concrete and drainage improvements for the courtyard
  • Kitchen improvements
  • New flooring
  • New doors, shutters, and gates

Shire President Eddie Smith said Council was proud to support local industry while investing in critical infrastructure renewal. “We’re committed to revitalising our community spaces while supporting local jobs,” Mr Smith said. “This project will ensure the Civic Centre remains a safe, accessible, and welcoming venue for community use.”

The works will commence in the coming weeks, with the Woolshed closed for hires and events until late September.
