Carnarvon has been nominated in five categories in the 2026 Keep Australia Beautiful Council of WA Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities Awards, recognising the community’s commitment to environmental action, heritage, public spaces and grassroots leadership.

Carnarvon’s Litter Legends are turning rubbish into racing boats, with the Carnarvon Litter Legends Regatta 2027 receiving funding through the Keep Australia Beautiful WA Community Litter Grants program.

The Shire of Carnarvon was delighted to partner with the Carnarvon Tree Society and members of the community to celebrate National Tree Day Planet Ark at the Carnarvon Arboretum on Robinson Street on Sunday, 26 July.

What began as a water-wise project with little more than a water tank and plenty of determination has grown into a thriving collection of local species and an important community resource.

The Shire of Carnarvon is excited to launch Round 10 of the popular Litter Legends initiative, a community-led program that combines gentle exercise with volunteering to keep the town looking its best.
