Creative Sparks Program
The Shire of Carnarvon is excited to launch Creative Sparks, proudly funded through the Creativity and Wellbeing for Young People Program created by Healthway and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (DCITS).
The Carnarvon Creative Sparks program has been developed to give children and young people the chance to get involved in genuine creative experiences – making, creating, trying new things and having fun with others.
The program will run throughout 2026, with the Shire delivering three Creative Sparks programs in January to kick things off before school returns.
We’re now inviting Expressions of Interest from families for young people who would like to be part of our after-school program.
Creative Sparks is built on the SEW-Arts Framework, which underpins the program by:
- Placing creativity and the arts at the centre
- Encouraging connection and collaboration
- Supporting confidence, learning and personal growth
While the framework guides the program design, the experience for young people is simple, fun, hands-on, creative sessions where they can experiment, make things, meet others and be part of something positive.
Register your interest and come along to one of the Creative Sparks sessions during the January school holidays.
These sessions are a great way to see what the after-school program will look like in 2026.
EOIs close Friday 23 January
Let’s spark ideas, creativity and imagination in 2026.
