The Carnarvon community demonstrated their massive love of libraries on the weekend as Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery celebrated Library Lovers Day.
From when the doors opened at 9.30am on Saturday 14 February, the space came alive as patrons enjoyed free literary-themed refreshments, ‘blind dates’ with book giveaways, and a chance to win a Carnarvon Chamber of Commerce shopping voucher. Families flocked in for our two special Storytime sessions and building with blocks in the Art Gallery, plus the family craft event in the Kids Zone made lots of love-themed creations with clay, cardboard, and colourful paints.
With new Carnarvon residents coming in to sign up for the first time and previous members re-connecting with us after years away, it was a wonderful opportunity for library and art gallery staff to engage with everyone, highlighting our new and returning programs for 2026. From our regular clubs and local history initiatives for adults, to our new iteration of LEGO Club for kids, plus upcoming art gallery exhibitions, and much more on the horizon; 2026 is shaping up to be another amazing year at Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery.
A massive thank you to the almost two hundred community members who shared their love of libraries on Saturday and helped make Library Lovers Day such an amazing success!
