Underneath/Overlooked invited the community to explore the hidden stories at our feet, focusing on the fascinating world of terrazzo craftsmanship. The exhibition centred on the legacy of Giuseppe and Anna Scolaro, Italian immigrants whose work famously transformed Western Australian homes during the 1950s.
Through the work of artists Penny Bovell and Gabby Howlett, this interactive exhibition celebrated the artistry often walked over but rarely fully appreciated. The showcase included historical photographs and pattern-making explorations, revealing the enduring design and hidden beauty of the terrazzo floors that continue to grace spaces across the state today.
