Coral Bay Precinct Structure Plan
Posted: 06/05/2026
The Shire of Carnarvon has embarked on an exciting project to prepare a new plan to guide future development in Coral Bay. The current Coral Bay Settlement Structure Plan is due to expire in 2028, and a new framework is needed to respond to current social, environmental and economic conditions, as well as align with the state planning framework.
The Shire has engaged a consultant team to prepare the new Coral Bay Precinct Structure Plan. A Precinct Structure Plan is a planning document that guides how an area will be planned and developed in the future. This includes how land can be used, what can be built and what buildings look like.
The Coral Bay Precinct Structure Plan will help guide development in Coral Bay to ensure it is well managed and aligns with broader planning strategies and local community needs.
Community engagement is an important part of developing a Precinct Structure Plan and there will be several ways for the Coral Bay community to get involved to help us create the plan.
