Nook Exhibition | We Can Together: Men's Stories Through Art

Some stories take courage to tell. These ones are told in paint, colour and truth.

We are proud to present an exhibition featuring powerful artwork created by participants of We Can Together, an Aboriginal men's brief intervention program delivered in Carnarvon by GRAMS Gascoyne Outreach Service (GOS) in partnership with Stopping Family Violence.

About the artwork

As part of the program, each man is invited to create an artwork alongside a Personal Journey story, reflecting on his life, his experiences, the choices he has made, and what he has learned throughout the program.

These artworks provide a space for men to reflect, take responsibility and share their journeys towards healthier relationships with their partners, children, families and community.

About the program

We Can Together is designed to hold Aboriginal men accountable for violence against women and children, with a strong focus on:

• Accountability and responsibility
• The safety of women and children
• Healthy partner and family relationships
• Cultural connection
• Building stronger, healthier futures

Why it matters

The exhibition offers an opportunity to listen to these stories and recognise the courage it takes to acknowledge harmful behaviour, take responsibility and commit to change.
