ABOUT THE PROGRAM
16 Days in WA is a key initiative of the CAOD Working Group. The campaign seeks to raise awareness, inspire action, and stand against gender-based violence in our communities.
We are seeking a Creative Project Manager to lead a meaningful, community-led project that contributes to this campaign through creative expression, cultural connection, and deep community engagement.
The position has a strong creative focus and is well-suited to a community-minded person who can hold space for sensitive conversations, work collaboratively, and deliver something unique with and for the people of Carnarvon.
The successful candidate will receive project support from Shire of Carnarvon Place & Cultural Development Coordinator Keely Robertson, and CAOD sub-committee.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a three-part project:
- Engagement – Connect with local organisations, services, and community groups working in this space. Collaborate, listen, and co-design.
- Project Delivery – Roll out a creative activation or community project during the 16 Days in WA.
- Reporting – Reflect and document the process, including outcomes and learnings.
Ideas for the resulting project may include (but aren’t limited to):
- Curation of a program of 16 Days in WA events happening across Shire of Carnarvon from various organisations, and adding to these
- Community healing circle sessions
- A creative parade or activation
- Delivery of community events
- A collaborative artwork for display
- Events or workshops targeting specific audiences or age groups
You will have full use of the Community Art Hub for meetings, workshops, and events. There is also scope to align with existing programs like Friday Night Art Club or engage artists to support delivery.
