Carnarvon community celebrates groundbreaking exhibition!

What an Absolutely Incredible Opening Night!

We were blown away by the amazing energy from our community. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate Bruno Booth Exquisite Bodies with us!

The evening kicked off with a wonderful speech from the Shire President, leading to the big reveal of the transformed gallery space. Inside, the inspiration continued with powerful words from Keely Robertson and the exhibition's co-creator, Lilly Blue from The Art Gallery of Western Australia.

A huge highlight was seeing the exhibition come alive as Lilly facilitated a fantastic group session. The space filled with sparks of joy, laughter, and creativity from enthusiastic kids and adults alike – exactly what this exhibition is all about!

Special thank you to the amazing Bec from Cuppa & Crumb Cafe for the delicious catering that kept everyone happy all evening!

Missed the opening? The journey has just begun! Exquisite Bodies is an experience you won't want to miss.

Your Hands-On Sensory Adventure

A participatory exhibition for all ages and abilities, fostering creativity, connection, and wellbeing:

  • Exhibition: Bruno Booth's Casually Asking Questions – a sculptural wall-installation exploring questions faced by people with disabilities. Creative Facilitators reset daily, blending new visitor sculptures for a fresh vibe!

  • Studio: Become the artist! Build with large grey foam blocks, create with smaller wooden ones, or play the Exquisite Corpse drawing game.

  • Research: Aligning with Shire of Carnarvon Disability Access and Inclusion Plan through playful training. Local artists with disabilities act as "lived consultants" for community inclusion. Reflections evolve throughout.

  • Gathering Space: Multipurpose area with table seating for 8-10 (ideal for meetings or games) and foam block seats for casual chats.
