Infrastructure

We would like to provide you with a brief update on the current condition of the Shire’s unsealed road network following recent weather events and inspections.

Roads Open This Week – Drive With Caution

Some roads that have sustained damage remain open this week, however further works are still required. Travel is permitted, but conditions may be difficult in places, and we ask that all users drive with caution and to conditions. Please be aware of soft sections, water damage and reduced formation widths.

Conditions may change, and temporary restrictions may still be required to safely complete repairs.

Roads Remaining Closed

The following roads remain closed at this time, as further emergency works and/or inspections are required before safe access can be restored:

  • Hill Springs Road
  • Lyndon Minnie Creek Road
  • Meedo Road
  • Minilya–Lyndon Road
  • Minilya Road
  • Mt Sandiman Williambury Road
  • Warroorra East Road
  • Yalbalgo Road

Please note:

  • Parts of Meedo Road remain uninspected beyond the Wooramel River crossing due to water levels.
  • Sections of Warroorra East Road are still affected by standing water and will be assessed once conditions allow.

Priority Works

Emergency works are currently concentrated on Minilya–Lyndon Road, which has experienced significant damage. At this stage, the road is expected to remain closed for approximately a further two weeks, subject to weather and progress on site.

Completed Works

We are pleased to advise that Wahroonga–Pimbee Road was completed this week and has reopened.

We appreciate your patience while these works continue. All closures and cautions are in place to ensure safety and to prevent further damage to the network.

If you have urgent access requirements for property operations, please contact the Shire so we can discuss options where possible.

Further updates will be provided as conditions improve
