The Shire of Carnarvon and the Carnarvon Chamber of Commerce and Industry are joining forces once again to encourage residents and visitors to shop, dine, and spend locally this festive season.
Through the Shire’s Outgoing Sponsorship Program, Council has approved $10,000 in funding to the Chamber to deliver the Christmas Buy Local Campaign and the Dine Local initiative launching in early 2026.
The initiative will help inject funds back into local businesses while building positive community messages about the importance of supporting the local economy.
Shire President Eddie Smith said the campaign is a great example of partnership between local government and the business community.
“Buying local keeps money circulating in our community, supports jobs, and strengthens our local economy. The Council is proud to back the Chamber in promoting the fantastic products and services we have right here in Carnarvon,” Cr Smith said.
Carnarvon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Paul Dixon said the partnership with the Shire provides vital support for local business engagement and awareness.
“We know every dollar spent locally makes a real difference. This campaign is about reminding people that their choices matter and celebrating the businesses that continue to invest in our town,” Mr Dixon said.
The Buy Local Campaign officially launched Monday 10 November, with the first draw taking place on Friday 14 November.
