Published on Thursday, 8 May 2025 at 11:46:18 AM

In a recent close vote, the Shire of Carnarvon Council has approved the introduction several Passes of the Blowholes Eco Reserve. This decision reinforces the Council’s ongoing commitment to the sustainable management, and day use will continue under the provisions of the Blowholes Reserve Management Plan 2014-2036.

Effective from 2025/26 financial year, the following charges will apply to visitors at the blowholes:

  • Local Membership Pass: $100.00 (This annual pass includes unlimited camping and day use for up to 2 vehicles and 6 people, valid for the entire year)
  • Campsite Fee: $30.00 per night (covers up to 6 people per site; no concessions available)

Note: All overnight camping will require a chemical toilet.

  • Day Pass: $10.00 per vehicle (up to 6 people)

This initiative is designed to ensure that the Blowholes Eco Reserve is well cared for and preserved, while supporting its long-term sustainability and the future of this magnificent natural treasure. The Shire will continue to collaborate with the Blowholes Protection Association and the Department of Planning, Land and Heritage regarding the ongoing tenure of the Reserve and other associated matters.
