Jessie Larman (Wyatt) was born in England and emigrated to Australia in 1973 with her husband Patrick and their three children. A passionate artist and author, she has published several books and held numerous exhibitions in Australia and England.
Jessie lives in Carnarvon, WA, where she has resided since 1973. She is active in committees, served as President of the Mothers' Union Australia at the Anglican Church, and remains involved with the Gascoyne Arts Society. She shares her story through her books and artwork.
For over 50 years, Jessie has been a beloved figure in Carnarvon’s creative community. On 7 May 2026, the Shire of Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery hosted a special evening honoring her artistic journey.
Locals recalled her Thursday art classes, inspired by Bob Ross, and her pioneering art gallery on the plantation, which attracted dignitaries and later became a home studio still open by appointment.
The event featured warm conversations, including a discussion with artist Leanne Gillham, and Jessie reading from her book about arriving in Carnarvon and starting a plantation, blending personal history with regional spirit.
