The Shire of Carnarvon is pleased to announce it has been successful in securing $15,000 through the 2025 Age Friendly Communities Grants Program, delivered by LG Professionals WA and funded by the Department of Communities.

The funding will support Carnarvon Active Seniors – Connect, Create and Engage, an initiative designed to foster social participation, wellbeing and community connection among older adults in Carnarvon.

The program will provide a diverse range of activities and opportunities for seniors, including intergenerational events, creative arts workshops, outdoor activities, technology tutoring and volunteer opportunities. These activities are designed to help older residents build meaningful connections, remain active and engaged, and reduce feelings of social isolation.

The 2025 program will focus on the theme Culture, Creativity and Active Living, celebrating the valuable contributions of older people within our community while encouraging lifelong learning, participation and inclusion.

The program will culminate in a community-wide celebration, bringing participants together to showcase achievements, share experiences and strengthen community connections.

The Shire of Carnarvon looks forward to working with local partners, volunteers and community members to deliver this exciting program and create more opportunities for seniors to connect, create and engage.
