At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 29 April 2025, the Shire of Carnarvon resolved to provide $4,276.80 in financial support to the Carnarvon Rifle Club to improve safety and functionality at its range ahead of the Club’s Annual Shoot in July.
The funds will enable the Club to purchase and apply cracker dust to reshape and seal the range’s shooting mounds. This upgrade will result in a safer, more stable, and lower-maintenance surface for competitors and members.
Shire President Eddie Smith said Council was pleased to support a longstanding local club with a strong track record of volunteer effort and facility care.
“The Rifle Club plays an important role in providing a safe and structured sporting environment for our community,” Mr Smith said. “This support will help them deliver a quality competition experience while ensuring the range remains accessible and well maintained.”
The Shire looks forward to seeing the upgrades in action and the continued success of the Club’s upcoming events.
