Project Updates
On Tuesday, during her visit to Carnarvon for the WA Tourism Conference, Minister for Regional Development, Hon Hannah Beazley MLA, visited the Northwater Housing Development to see firsthand the progress being made to support housing availability in the region.
The project has delivered two new 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom homes within the Northwater Estate, helping increase rental housing options for local workers and key service providers. With the homes now occupied and only final landscaping works remaining, the project is nearing full completion.
Housing availability continues to be a key challenge for many regional communities, with projects like this playing an important role in supporting liveability, workforce attraction and long-term economic growth.
The $1.36 million project is jointly supported through the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant Program facilitated by the Gascoyne Development Commission, with works delivered by Northern Aspect Construction.
Projects like these help create stronger communities by supporting the people who live and work in our region.
The Shire of Carnarvon remains committed to supporting housing growth and ensuring suitable accommodation options are available for the community’s current and future needs.
