Project Updates
Exciting things are taking shape at Van Dongen Park, affectionately known as the 'Banana Playground', with Stage One of construction and landscaping now officially underway.
Contractor First Class Constructions WA Pty Ltd is now on site, marking the beginning of the transformation of the town's entryway into an inviting and vibrant new community destination hub.
Designed as a destination park, it will feature:
- A unique play zone with bespoke, banana-inspired play equipment
- Shaded seating areas
- Public art celebrating our community
- Landscaping
- Perimeter fencing
This exciting project is being delivered with support from a $15,554,633 contribution from the Australian Government's Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP) and a Lotterywest grant of $1,807,424.
