Project Updates
There’s plenty happening at Van Dongen Park, with contractors. First Class Constructions WA Pty Ltd, making great progress on the transformation of this important community space.
This week marks a particularly exciting milestone with the installation of the iconic Banana play equipment commencing!
The banana, custom-designed by Lark Industries, will form the centrepiece of the new play zone and is a big step towards bringing the vision for Van Dongen Park to life.
The current Stage One landscaping and construction works will transform the park into a vibrant and welcoming space featuring bespoke play equipment, permanent shade shelters and seating, landscaping, public art and perimeter fencing. Whilst this is an exciting time for the town, we would like to remind the local community that this is a construction site and therefore off limits to the general public for safety reasons until complete.
The Shire of Carnarvon is grateful for the significant investment helping make this exciting project possible, with funding provided through the Australian Government’s regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP) and a $1,807,424 Lotterywest grant.
