Big things are happening in Carnarvon!
This morning our local contractors were onsite carefully collecting recovered timber from the historic One Mile Jetty to be transformed into signage and seating for our current projects.
Local contractor, Stuart Parker, has been awarded the contract to construct and install signage and seating along the Tramway Walk Trail, whilst W&C Co Mechanical and Civil have been awarded works to undertake the construction, coordination and installation of a series of public art pieces for the Local Connect & Create Project. These projects have been made possible through a Lotterywest grant.
Using this iconic timber means these projects won’t just serve our community — they’ll share our story.
The Shire would like to thank the Transport WA for their support in repurposing the One Mile Jetty timber for these important heritage and community projects.
