Cyclone ALL CLEAR advice for NORTH WEST CAPE to CAPE CUVIER (including EXMOUTH, CORAL BAY and GIRALIA)
Update time: 12:05 PM, 24/02/24
The Evacuation Centre at Carnarvon Civic Centre has been closed.
A SEVERE WEATHER ALERT has been issued by BOM, please monitor their website for up-to-date information http://www.bom.gov.au/
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lincoln is expected to cross the Gascoyne coast between Coral Bay and Cape Cuvier tonight. It is less likely to redevelop into a tropical cyclone, and so the risk of cyclonic-strength weather in these areas has been reduced. Severe weather is still expected in these locations and people need to remain vigilant and keep up to date.
WHAT TO DO
- Take care on the roads, obey road closure signs and do not drive into water of unknown depth and current.
- Drive slowly and be aware of emergency services personnel who are working in the area.
- Do not walk, swim or play in floodwaters as they are dangerous.
