In accordance with section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995 (WA), the Shire of Carnarvon hereby gives notice of its intention to impose differential rates for each rating category in the 2026-27 financial year.

Pursuant to s.6.19 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Carnarvon hereby gives notice of its intention to impose new Fees and Charges for the 2026/2027 financial year. The 2026/27 Schedule of Fees and Charges was adopted at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday 30 June 2026*. 

The Visitor Centre will be closed for stocktake on 1 July 2026.

The Shire of Carnarvon advises that the pathway within the future Van Dongen Park project site will be partially closed from Thursday 9th July 2026, when temporary fencing will be installed to establish the construction site.

Recent rainfall across the Shire has impacted a number of roads, resulting in closures and restricted access in some areas. Motorists are advised to avoid affected roads and plan their travel accordingly.

Due to recent rainfall and site conditions, the Carnarvon Waste Facility is temporarily closed to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.

Please be advised that a scheduled green waste burn will take place on 3 June from 6am at the Waste Facility.

In accordance with Regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, notice is given that the Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Thursday, 28 May 2026, to be held in Coral Bay, has been cancelled.

The community is advised that the Agenda Briefing scheduled for Tuesday, 19 May 2026, to be held at the Shire of Carnarvon, Council Chambers, has been cancelled.

The Gascoyne RSL invites all residents and visitors to attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service on Saturday, 25 April at the Town Cenotaph, located at the corner of Francis Street and Stuart Street.

Residents are reminded that kerbside bin collection commences from 6:00 am, Monday to Friday.

A Special Council Meeting will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 14 April at 4:00pm in the Council Chambers. The meeting will consider a confidential employee matter, and as such, this item will be discussed behind closed doors in accordance with the Local Government Act.

Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Carnarvon has amended the fees and charges for the following to take effect from 2 March 2026.

Please be advised that due to the Christmas and New Year public holidays, bin collection days will change.
