Public Notice – Blowholes Campground Closure (Cyclone Mitchell)

Due to the current tracking of Cyclone Mitchell, the Blowholes Campground will be closed from 2:00pm today. This closure aligns with the planned closure of the highway and is being implemented to ensure public safety.

All campers are required to vacate the campground prior to this time. Shire Rangers will be onsite to check the area and ensure all visitors have departed safely.

The Shire’s Visitor Centre will contact affected campers early next week regarding refunds.

Visitors requiring alternative accommodation are encouraged to check in at available campsites within Carnarvon.

The Shire of Carnarvon urges all residents and visitors to continue monitoring official weather warnings and follow emergency advice.
