Eddie Smith has had 14 years of experience in Local Government having been first elected to the position of Councillor in May 2005. In October 2019 Eddie was elected by the people of Carnarvon to the position of Shire President.
Eddie was born in Carnarvon and schooled in Perth and has a passion for retaining families together, supporting local business, sporting and volunteer groups. He believes that our children are the future and was instrumental in obtaining the old Primary Pre School Building for a Shire of Carnarvon Youth Hub.
Eddie believes that a Council is to be open and accountable with respect for Carnarvon’s biggest asset, the community and provide a level of governance and services that is financially sustainable for the whole community.
