PIONEER CEMETERY REMEDIATION WORKS 

The Shire of Carnarvon has allocated funding in the annual budget to complete works for the Carnarvon Pioneer Cemetery beautification project.  The cemetery is located in South Carnarvon and was closed to public burials in 1980. Over the years, the cemetery has deteriorated. The Shire has identified several works items to restore, beautify and improve visitor access to the cemetery. 

The works included: 

• Construction of a pedestrian pathway
• Construction of a vehicle access road and vehicle parking area
• Construction of a rock gabion entrance feature
