The Shire of Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery is thrilled to present Radical Futures: SOLID GROUND, a captivating group exhibition that embodies the raw essence and creative spirit of the Gascoyne region. As part of Western Australia's Regional Arts Triennial 3, Carnarvon proudly represents our region's unique voice and vision alongside other communities across the state.

The theme of SOLID GROUND emerged from a powerful community engagement piece delivered leading into this exhibition, inspired by the iconic song 'Solid Rock' by Goanna. Through dynamic discussions with community members and artists, a shared vision took root, one deeply connected to the landscape, environment, and a grounded future for this sacred, untouched land. This theme weaves through the exhibition, uniting the works with a profound respect for our ecology and earth.

Featuring talented artists from Carnarvon, Exmouth, and Shark Bay, SOLID GROUND explores bold and meaningful questions: What’s your dream for our region? How can we give back? How do we care for ourselves, our community, and our environment? The result is a vibrant tapestry of creativity, showcasing diverse artforms and mediums that honor our ancient landscape and delicate ecology. Each artwork reflects the solid ground beneath our feet and the shared foundation of our creative spirit.
