Litter Legends Round 8

Friday 7th November 2025
(Multiple Dates Between Friday 7th November 2025 & Friday 12th December 2025)

Last Round of Litter Legends for 2025

We’re wrapping up an inspiring year of community volunteering with the Carnarvon Litter Legends group, and what a difference it’s made!

A special shoutout to Carnarvon Litter Legends community leads: Wayne & Jeanette, and also to the groups regulars Chris, Pauline, Felix, Barry, Jenny, and Eileen! Huge thanks to everyone who’s helped keep Carnarvon beautiful, whether you joined our Friday morning clean-ups or took time out on your own. The town is looking terrific thanks to the efforts of many hands doing their part, along with our hard-working Shire depot team

Help us finish the year in force, and join us at one of the final clean-up locations for 2025 from 8:30-9am:

  • 7 November – Woolworths
  • 14 November – Youth Precinct
  • 21 November – Hospital
  • 28 November – Break
  • 5 December – Small Boat Harbour
  • 12 December – Cuppa & Crumb

After that, the group will take a well-deserved break and return refreshed in February 2026.

Want to stay involved over summer? You can still be a Litter Legend anytime! Grab a red Keep Australia Beautiful bag from the Shire front desk, hit the streets for a clean-up, then drop your bag at the Admin Building to claim your free coffee voucher as a thank you.

2025 Highlights

  • 49 group Friday clean-up sessions across Carnarvon – averaging 5 bags of litter
  • $5,000 Council commitment to continue the program, with money going to local cafés so the Shire can provide volunteers with coffee vouchers – a small thank you
  • Wayne & Jeanette featured on ABC Pilbara radio sharing about the program in April
  • Keep Australia Beautiful visited in May to launch the 2025 Awards, joined by Shire President Eddie Smith, Deputy President Burne Maslen & Main Roads representatives
  • Carnarvon rallied for a major clean up in September before Keep Australia Beautiful judges came to town
  • Carnarvon then named a finalist in three award categories in the 2025 WA Keep Australia Beautiful Awards: Litter Action (Litter Legends), Young Legends (Helen Tipton), and General Appearance
  • Wayne & Jeanette went above and beyond in the Oceans to Outback challenge; Wayne alone collected 187 bags of rubbish and 2,044 drink containers over 87km of main roads!

It’s been a huge year of community spirit and pride in our town.

Thank you to every Litter Legend who’s helped make Carnarvon even more beautiful! 🌴💚
