Children's Week is here, and the Shire of Carnarvon proudly joins in the celebration of this year's theme: "Children have the right to relax, play, and take part in activities they enjoy." As we reflect on the importance of this week, we are proud of our dedication to supporting young people and their families in Carnarvon.

The Shire of Carnarvon is committed to nurturing the development of our young people. We offer a range of programs and services, including our invaluable library service, which plays a crucial role in a young person's growth. We have also funded initiatives by the Carnarvon Toy Library through the Community Growth Fund and secured over $50,000 in funding for our childcare workers from the Department of Communities through the Attraction and Retention funding program.

Our commitment to education shines through our successful School Holiday programs and engaging National Science Week initiatives, among other remarkable efforts.

This Saturday, the Shire of Carnarvon will be an active participant in the Gascoyne Early Years Network, collaborating to present the annual Children's Week Family Fun Day and celebrate 10-years of the Shire’s Library and Art Gallery at Baxter Park on 28 October 2023

These achievements align with the Shire's Strategic Community Plan, ensuring that our community's educational opportunities, from early childhood onwards, are tailored to the needs and aspirations of our community.
