Rio Tinto Joins Forces with Shire of Carnarvon as Gold Partner for Share Our Horizons Partnership Program

The Shire of Carnarvon is delighted to announce that Rio Tinto has joined the Share Our Horizons Partnership Program as a Gold Partner. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the Shire's ongoing efforts to enhance community initiatives and foster a thriving, vibrant environment for the residents of Carnarvon.

Rio Tinto's generous contribution of $40,000 will be allocated towards various community projects, including the Fencing Mural Project, aligning with the Beautiful Streets: 6701 programs. This initiative aims to enhance the aesthetics of Carnarvon's streets, making them more visually appealing and contributing to the overall beautification of the town.

The Shire’s CEO Andrea Selvey expressed her gratitude for Rio Tinto's commitment to the community, "We are thrilled to welcome Rio Tinto as a Gold Partner for our Share Our Horizons Partnership Program. Their support will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on our community, allowing us to implement meaningful projects that contribute to the betterment of Carnarvon."

One of the key projects Rio Tinto supports is the Fencing Mural Project, which will bring local and regional artists together to create vibrant and engaging murals on selected fences throughout the town. This initiative promotes local artistic talent and enhances the overall visual appeal of Carnarvon's streets.

In addition to the Fencing Mural Project, Rio Tinto's partnership will extend to a series of community events throughout 2024, including the Harmony Week Festival, National Youth Week, NAIDOC Week, and a series of Welcome to Carnarvon events. These events are designed to celebrate diversity, youth engagement, Aboriginal culture, and the welcoming spirit of Carnarvon.
