Shire of Carnarvon and Gascoyne RSL Sub-Branch Commemorate 100th Anniversary of Carnarvon Cenotaph

The Shire of Carnarvon, in collaboration with the Gascoyne RSL Sub-Branch, celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the consecration of the Carnarvon Cenotaph on Remembrance Day, 11 November 2023. The event witnessed a great turnout of community members who gathered to honour and pay respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

It was announced at the ceremony the Carnarvon Cenotaph will serve as the keeper of our community's history through the installation of two time capsules. These capsules will capture the essence of this significant milestone, preserving the memories and sentiments of the 100th anniversary for future generations.

The Gascoyne RSL Sub-Branch's commitment to veterans and their families, along with their invaluable support, greatly enriched the commemorative event.
