Shire of Carnarvon Awards Over $32,000 in Community Growth Fund Applications

The Shire of Carnarvon is pleased to announce the successful recipients of the latest round of the Community Growth Fund, totalling over $32,000 in financial support for various community initiatives. The fund aims to boost local organisations and clubs that contribute to the Shire's Strategic Community Plan, fostering growth and development within the region.

Among the recipients is the Carnarvon Windfest, receiving a grant of $10,000 to support their upcoming event. The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club has been awarded $10,000 towards the construction of a new track for the 2025 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash. The Carnarvon Pistol Association will use their $5,000 grant to build new steel challenge equipment, while the Carnarvon Bowling Club has secured $5,000 for their annual Bowling Carnival in June 2024. Additionally, the Carnarvon Arts and Crafts Workshop Club and Carnarvon Rifle Club have received funding towards operational costs.

Shire President Eddie Smith expressed the Council’s excitement about the positive impact these grants will have on the community. "The Community Growth Fund plays a vital role in supporting the endeavours of local organisations and clubs, enabling them to contribute to the overall wellbeing of our community. We are delighted to witness the diverse range of projects that will now come to fruition, thanks to this round of funding."

The Community Growth Fund aligns with the Shire's Strategic Community Plan, promoting initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents and contribute to the overall growth and sustainability of the region.

The Shire of Carnarvon encourages local organisations and clubs to take advantage of the ongoing support provided by the Community Growth Fund. The next round of funding is now open, with applications being accepted until 12 February 2024.
