Who is eligible for the Annual Membership
The Annual Membership is available to anyone who can provide proof of residence within postcode 6701.
e.g.: Driver License, Utility Bill, etc.
I'm a local – why do I have to pay if I live in the region?
Locals can purchase an Annual Membership for $100, which includes camping fees and covers two vehicles up to 6 people. This is a heavily discounted option that acknowledges local use while still supporting upkeep and management of the site.
If we've purchased a yearly family pass and registered our two cars but then more than 6 people come up in those 2 cars, what happens there?
The Annual Membership covers up to six people in total, across the two registered vehicles. If you're bringing more than six people, an additional day pass, camping fee or another membership will be required to cover the extra guests.
How do we register our cars?
When signing up for your Annual Membership, you’ll be prompted to register your two vehicles during the sign-up process. This ensures both vehicles are linked to your membership from the start.
If I buy an Annual Membership, do I still have to book a campsite?
Yes. Even with an Annual Membership, all campers must book a site. This lets you know what camp sites are available and ensures you have a confirmed spot.
Can I book a campsite far in advance and cancel last minute without a fee?
To avoid misuse, bookings will be limited to 90 days in advance, and we’re working on clear policies for cancellations and refunds to ensure fair access to all.
Do I have to pay the Annual Membership or camping fee if I own a shack at the Blowholes?
Yes. When staying at a shack, you are required to purchase an Annual Membership when staying overnight at the reserve.
If you're not eligible for the Annual Membership, the camping fee can be paid directly to the Camp Host upon arrival. This ensures consistency and fairness across all visitors.
I own a shack at the Blowholes – do I still need to pay to stay there?
Yes. Shack owners are required to pay when staying overnight at the Blowholes. If you live in the 6701 postcode, you are eligible to purchase the Annual Membership, which includes camping.
If you're not eligible for the Annual Membership, you can still stay overnight by paying the standard camping fee directly to the Camp Host upon arrival.
We own a shack and sometimes travel with more than two vehicles. How does that work with the Annual Membership?
Each Annual Membership covers two registered vehicles. If you’re bringing additional vehicles beyond those two, you’ll need to purchase an additional membership to cover them.
If you're not eligible for the Annual Membership (for example, if you don’t live in the 6701 postcode), you can still camp by paying the standard fee directly to the Camp Host when you arrive.
What about chemical toilets, are they going to be compulsory?
Yes, chemical toilets have always been compulsory for overnight camping at the Blowholes Eco Reserve, and this requirement will remain in place to protect the environment and ensure responsible camping practices.
Is there online booking that allows me to reference my membership pass?
Yes, the online booking system will allow you to enter your registered vehicle number, which will serve as your reference for the Annual Membership. This helps verify your pass and streamline the process. TBC - Still in process
What is the process if I register only one car and want to add a second vehicle later?

What is the process if I sell my vehicle - obtaining a new membership pass with new car registration details?
You will need to visit the Shire Administration Office and complete a Change of Details form. Please ensure you bring a valid form of identification to update your membership records.
Is the membership pass from the date of purchase or a Jan-Dec year expiry?
The Annual Membership is aligned with the financial year, running from 1 July to 30 June. For this first year only, memberships will commence from 22 May 2025, giving members a little extra time in their first year at no additional cost.
How does the Day Pass work, especially for locals who don’t camp but just visit for the day?
The Day Pass is $10 per vehicle (up to 6 people) and is required for anyone entering the Blowholes Eco Reserve.
If you’re a local who visits regularly—even just for day trips—it may still be more cost-effective to purchase the $100 Annual Membership, which includes unlimited access for two registered vehicles. Otherwise, a Day Pass will need to be purchased each time you visit.
