The Shire of Carnarvon is proud to announce the recent recipients of the Community Growth Fund, which aims to support initiatives contributing to the growth and vitality of our community. These recipients exemplify the spirit of community engagement and development, aligning with the objectives outlined in the Shire's Strategic Community Plan.
The recipients of the Community Growth Fund are:
- Carnarvon Race Club: Support towards landing fees to facilitate fortnightly race meetings.
- Carnarvon Volunteer Fire Brigade: Assistance towards their 60th-anniversary celebrations, recognising their invaluable service to the community over the years.
- Gascoyne River Bush Fire Brigade: Funding allocated for the purchase of essential equipment to enhance training capabilities, ensuring preparedness for emergencies.
- Gascoyne Food Council: Contribution towards the 2024 Gascoyne Food Festival, promoting local produce and delivering culinary experiences within the region.
- Queernarvon: Support for the 2024 Queenarvon Festival, celebrating community diversity through a range of events and activities.
- Carnarvon Family Support Services: Assistance for the "Rights of the Carnarvon Child" poster project, advocating for the well-being and rights of children within the community.
Eddie Smith, Shire President, expressed his appreciation for the dedication and initiative demonstrated by the recipients: "These organisations play a crucial role in fostering community growth and vitality in Carnarvon.
