Today, we're thrilled to unveil a project that's been in the making since September 2023! With generous funding from the Shire of Carnarvon and the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries, local artist Gosia Taylor led workshops at Gwoonwardu Mia during the School Holidays to bring this vision to life.

The Shire of Carnarvon extends its gratitude to Real Futures Pty Ltd for their pivotal role in the revitalisation of the Skate Park within the Youth Precinct. This project, made possible through funding from the Gascoyne Development Commission, marks a significant step forward in providing vibrant recreational spaces for the youth of our community.

The Shire of Carnarvon is proud to announce the receipt of a $10,000 grant from the Saluting Their Service - Commemorative Grants program for the establishment of a War Memorial in Coral Bay. This significant funding will enable the community to finally have a dedicated space to honour and commemorate the individuals who have bravely served our country.

The Carnarvon community is celebrating the outstanding success of the newly opened Pump Track, a pivotal component of the Youth Precinct Revitalisation project, funded by Lotterywest. Since its soft opening on 24 October 2023, the vibrant youth precinct has become a hub of excitement and activity for the community. On the evening of the opening, families and youth of Carnarvon gathered at the Pump Track, trying out the exhilarating facility with big smiles and enthusiasm. The dynamic track has proven to be a popular and inclusive space for all ages to come together, fostering a sense of unity within the community.

The Shire is excited to announce that Stage 1 of the Carnarvon Youth Precinct - Pump Track, is officially complete! The curing period is now finished, and the fences are coming down TODAY! So, after much anticipation this fantastic addition to our community is now OPEN!

The Shire of Carnarvon is thrilled to announce the official opening of the Baxter Park Nature Playground, a vibrant addition to our community that promises endless fun and learning opportunities for children and families. This exciting project, funded by the Australian Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, marks the first step in our commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and amenities, aligning with the Shire's Strategic Community Plan.
