The Carnarvon community is celebrating the outstanding success of the newly opened Pump Track, a pivotal component of the Youth Precinct Revitalisation project, funded by Lotterywest. Since its soft opening on 24 October 2023, the vibrant youth precinct has become a hub of excitement and activity for the community.

On the evening of the opening, families and youth of Carnarvon gathered at the Pump Track, trying out the exhilarating facility with big smiles and enthusiasm. The dynamic track has proven to be a popular and inclusive space for all ages to come together, fostering a sense of unity within the community.

Shire President, Eddie Smith, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response to the new facility, stating, "The success of the Pump Track demonstrates the Shire's commitment to creating a community that is flourishing and thriving. We are dedicated to providing spaces for our young people to enjoy and connect with one another."

The Pump Track represents only the first stage of the larger Youth Precinct Revitalisation project. Residents can look forward to further improvements, including shelters and upgrades to the basketball court, designed to enhance the overall experience and provide even more recreational opportunities for the community.

The Youth Precinct Revitalisation project has been made possible through the generous funding from Lotterywest, allowing the Shire to deliver on the communities' aspirations, outlined in the Strategic Community Plan.
