Shire President, Cr. Eddie Smith and CEO, Andrea Selvey had opportunity to meet with Paul Baron, chair of Nganhurrra Thanardi Garrbu Aboriginal Corporation (NTGAC) and Hazel Walgar, elder and board member of NTGAC, in Coral Bay recently to have a look at a potential waste site.
Coral Bay is in much need of a new waste facility and the support and interest from Mr. Baron and Ms. Walgar in securing a new site is very much appreciated.
“It was fantastic to meet with Paul and Hazel, the Baiyungu traditional Aboriginal owners of the Country, their feedback around the use of this site for a potential waste facility was invaluable as this facility will be of benefit for the community of Coral Bay,” said Shire President, Cr Eddie Smith.
