The Shire of Carnarvon proudly acknowledges the outstanding work of Andrea Musulin and the Carnarvon Family Support Services in the launch of the book 'Keeping Kids Safe in Carnarvon' as part of National Child Protection Week. This initiative has been made possible through the generous support of the Shire of Carnarvon's Community Growth Fund, with 5000 copies of the book distributed across Carnarvon to benefit our community's children.

'Keeping Kids Safe in Carnarvon' is a vital resource that guides young people through the principles of protective behaviours, all while showcasing the beautiful scenes of Carnarvon throughout the book. Its release during National Child Protection Week further emphasises the importance of protecting our children and providing them with the knowledge and tools to stay safe.

National Child Protection Week, celebrated from 3 to 9 September this year, aims to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and the importance of ensuring that every child is safe, healthy, and thriving within their communities. The theme for this year, 'Every child, in every community, needs a fair go,' emphasises the collective responsibility we all share in safeguarding our children's well-being.

Eddie Smith, President of the Shire of Carnarvon, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration that made this project possible, saying, "The Shire of Carnarvon is proud to have supported the production of 'Keeping Kids Safe in Carnarvon.' Our commitment to the safety and well-being of our children is unwavering, and this book is a testament to the dedication of our community to protect our most vulnerable members."

Andrea Musulin, Managing Director at Carnarvon Family Support Services, also shared her thoughts on this significant achievement, stating, "We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to create this valuable resource for our community. 'Keeping Kids Safe in Carnarvon' represents a collaborative effort to empower our children with knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe. It is a true testament to what can be achieved when organisations and the community work together."

The Shire of Carnarvon encourages all community members to take an active role in supporting child protection efforts, not only during National Child Protection Week but throughout the year. Together, we can create a safer and more secure environment for our children to grow and thrive.
