Are you Ready for Fire Season?

Did you know?
If there was a fire in the Gascoyne River scrub, with the right wind conditions, embers could potentially drop in any yard within the Carnarvon townsite?

If you have a look around in your backyard, what could burn?
Is there dry grass, leaves in your gutters, trees with dry branches or palms with lots of dead fronds?

What can you do?

  1. Don’t light any fires (much appreciated!) - Fire restrictions are now in place through to April 2023.
  2. Take all your branches and garden debris to the verge for collection next week - See more https://bit.ly/3VBCIAD
  3. Check out this Bush Fire Prone Map by DFES to see if you’re in prone area https://maps.slip.wa.gov.au/landgate/bushfireprone/
  4. Prepare your home and family for a fire or the recovery, with tips from DFES https://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/hazard-information/bushfire
  5. Brush up on all emergency preparedness by checking out the Community Presentation that was delivered at the information session Monday 21 November:
