Fire at Brown's Range Waste Facility

UPDATE - FIRE AT BROWN'S RANGE LANDFILL SITE 🔥

Residents are advised that a fire continues to burn at the Brown's Range tip in the greenwaste section.

The fire is contained and is under control, with smoke still present from smouldering debris.

Access to the facility is RESTRICTED as follows:

• No access to burning greenwaste area – an alternative area will be made available for green waste disposal.
• Access to asbestos and liquid waste not permitted without staff escort to the dumping area.
• Use open tracks only as directed by staff. Follow all signage.
• Operating hours now resume as usual, including closure at 4pm today, and not open tomorrow (Saturday).
• The situation will be monitored today and tomorrow.
• Facility is likely to be open Sunday as per normal opening hours of 8am – 2pm unless circumstances alter, with no changes to bin collection arrangements.

The tip will be closed until further notice.
